counting the days

hey frands,

i'm so excited to announce that i am a part of an amazing advent devotional called Counting the Days, Lighting the Candles by elyse fitzpatrick and jessica thompson. let's get real, i have a super small part in this book...i was in charge of the weekly advent activities. but whatever. happy to be working with these two gospel centered and gifted ladies.

(My sis, Audrey designed the cover!)

you know that i'm big on advent. that it has changed how we do christmas.
it has given us space to change in some pretty crazy ways. like one present at Christmas. what? are we nuts? perhaps.
so of course i want you all to participate in it.
if you want something simple, but gospel centered, this is it!
you can use it with the older kids or with the younger ones... it has a read for the parents and then a read for the kiddos. and then each week it has one activity to do together. Lord knows we all have so much to do over the holidays anyway.
so this isn't something to add to your crazy schedule.

for us, advent helped us to say no to a lot and say yes to refocusing our minds on the treasure we have in Jesus. i mean, in this world, that is so difficult around the holidays. if you've never done advent before, consider taking a baby step towards that this year. remember that there is no pressure to participate every single day...do what you can!

with that said, we are giving 5 hard copies away!
you can win by leaving a comment here, or you can have another chance by reposting the book cover i will have on my instagram,  @jaminato and using the hashtag #countingthedaysdevo
you can also get another chance by retweeting about the release from me, @jaminato1@thejesslou or @elysefitz with the hashtag #countingthedaysdevo

IF you are feeling generous, you can buy the book off createspace, the authors actually see more of the money. you can purchase through here.

happy monday!
jami

My little family just started going to a church that observes a 'church calendar,' so this will be my first advent taken seriously, as in, not just opening a chocolate each day of December. I can't wait to learn more. I learned so much during Lent, and really appreciated your post on that (and the link to the Gospel Coalition's guide).
