also on that same note, the porters are doing some fun giveaways on their blog tomorrow(thursday) to promote their adoption through their etsy shop, so head over there and check that out...super cute schtuff.
-------------------------------------------------
alrighty, now. occasionally i have bones to pick with the blogging world. so here goes:
you know i want everyone to be a blogger. it's important to capture your memories and as a mother, this is one of your jobs. it's important.
and you know i want people to be more honest in their blogging. it's not all rainbows and unicorns, but sometimes we pretend like it is. that's not cool. it helps no one, nor is it the correct depiction of your life.
and now. let's talk about our hearts when it comes to reading other people's blogs. aye-yi-yi! many times i have heard, i just don't read blogs because they make me feel like a bad mom/wife/person. or
after i read blogs, i feel pretty discouraged...
what the what is this all about? when we say(think) things like this(let's face it, we all do from time to time), i believe it's slightly a reflection of the not-always-honest-blogging world, but more a reflection of our hearts. why can't we look at blogs as inspiration and encouragement or even a chance to encourage others, instead of turning inward and comparing ourselves to one another? we do this in the real world all the time.
she's prettier than me.
she's skinnier than me.
she has it all together.
her husband's better than mine.
her kids behave more than mine.

uggg, that is the worst feeling to carry around all day. and from my observations, a woman's insecurities only get amplified in the blogging world. we have great imaginations...so we fill in the blanks between people's snapshots and stories they choose to put on the "intranet" that day. between the pictures, posts and words, we don't consider that there was probably yelling, screaming, tempers-raging, mess-ups, marriage problems, miscarriages, addictions, depression, heartache...the list goes on. we just say, they have it better than me. they are doing it right...i'm a terrible mom. if only i could do that. and then we carry that burden around all week.
yuck.
this comparing and filling in the blanks is wrong, ladies. in so many ways. we are supposed to look to God for our acceptance, love, and fulfillment. not through a checklist of things we do or don't do as a mother or wife.
not through all the things we could have done that day.
not through approval from others.
not through comparing ourselves to women that truly don't exist.
that's right, supermoms don't exist! news. flash.
we are all in different stages in life. we can all do more or less than one another at different times. some days are good days and some are really bad. be ok with where you're at.
so instead of turning inward when you read blogs, look outward. take time to encourage other moms/wives/people to continue loving their families and doing what they're passionate about. take time to say you rock my face off. take the focus off yourself and praise the hell out of others. although comments are not why we blog, they mean a lot. we can use our words to lift others up, instead of just reading "from the shadows" and never saying...hey, i actually read what you took time to write about. i care.

i encourage all of you guys to comment on what you read on any blog. whether they have 1 comment or 100, it doesn't matter. take the extra 5 seconds to comment. comment often. go on an encouraging spree...you wild and crazy gal. the blog world doesn't need jealous women rolling thier eyes at one another. it needs encouragment. KEEP WRITING. KEEP CREATING. it's a good thing.
so ya, in not-so-many words, secret stalkers don't make friends. come out of the bushes and say hi.

disclaimer: i know, you can't read every blog in your reader probably. i know you don't want to spend all your day commenting on every blog in the world. pick 5 or something. you get what i'm saying.
also, feel free to tell me if you disagree with this post or parts of it. i love conflict. not really, but i do enjoy open, honest dialogue. you won't hurt my feelings.
anyway, i made this the other day. i love reading about ya'lls lives. i find you guys inspiring and funny. it's like how people read the newspaper or drink coffee in the morning(i don't do either of those, so sue me). so blog on, friends. blog on. i'm reading.

i like reading your blog. i'm not a mommy, but i'm married and maybe thinking about kids. sometime in the far future. you're honest, and i like honesty.
ReplyDeletego you.
1. I eat more ice chips than you.
ReplyDelete2. You are the best commenter I know... I think even better than Victoria?
3. Right on. People love to feel loved. You have a gift of encouragement.
Thanks for writing. I read from the shadows :) I am pretty sure I found your blog from Emily's but I can't remember how I found her. When you find something you like you just stick with it though, right?
ReplyDeleteSo, you're in my reader and I appreciate your posts. I made a lot of stuff out of book paper this holiday season because of you.
We live down in Austin - and you're consistently an encouragement that my dusty bookshelves and daughter who keeps biting people don't mean that the gospel can't be lived out through me.
I will be more honest in my blogging, I will.
Thanks :)
i appreciate this post. it is a good reminder as i for sure fall into the, "darn you creative people with hairdoos and clothes on that make healthy food." category. also, i appreciate the encouragement to encourage. this, i need to do more often. also, i appreciate that you have commented on my blog several times, which made my week because it says "hey, i actually read what you took time to write about. i care." so thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo true.
ReplyDeleteGood post.
Thanks for the encouragement. Your photos are awesome too, you gorgeous gal!! :)
ReplyDeletetru dat tru dat.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing comments from ~Jami Nato~ pop up, makes my day. I do wonder where are all the 600 or so people that follow my blog when I post something. Hello? McFly?
Great post Jami, well said as always. Now can we have that cute little pic you made in 8x10 for my desk?
XOXOX
Carry on with you badass.
Awesome post. Do you mind if I ask what your source is for this information?
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm Allison! Do you know what is funny? I decided yesterday to start acually "following" all the blogs I read so that people know I am there and that I appreciate what they are writing. I came to your blog to click "follow" and leave you a comment introducing myself....and that is exactly what you posted about today. Ohhhh the irnoy. Thanks for the great post (and all your posts) I appreciate the encouragment to be real!
ReplyDeletethis post rocks my socks off! you took the word right out of my brain. blogging should be a tool to lift each other, to minister to each others hearts. love this post and love those photos of you pretty lady!
ReplyDeleteyes, anonymous, my "source" is my brain. so ya.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I love your open-ness and honesty. You put it all out there! LOVE IT! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI just wrote a similarly themed post recently because I get so sick of people telling me TO MY FACE (or email or Facebook or whatever) that I make them feel like a bad mom. You said it better than I did because I was an emotional mess when I wrote it. So here's today's dose of encouragement from me: YES! I agree with all of this post! And you're awesome! THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteWord.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna encourage my pants off today...
Wait..no.....Um....
I just love you, and your smarty pants brain to which you get all this awesome information. :)And, I wish everyone would read this and quit drinking their hateraide in the corner and come out and play.. We're all in this crazy game-o life together, why spend it grumpy-like.
xo
Loved your post! I totally do that-feel crappy about myself
ReplyDeleteafter reading someone's amazing post. So silly! Thanks for the encouragement :)
Amen. You are one of the 5 I read regularly. Just the other day, I actually read a few of your older posts but on my phone so I meant to comment later. Thank you for being so honest. And you are so right about Filipino hospitality :).
ReplyDeletelove your blog! i found you from emily's blog, from ashley ann's blog. so here's a comment because i usually just secret blog-stalk you :) you're honesty is encouraging.
ReplyDeleteI agree one hundred percent! Love the pictures ;) Hope you're feeling well mama! Rock on!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog.....saw a link from twitter. LOVE it! Great post!!!
ReplyDeleteHi I'm Gevay. I've been reading you're blog for about a month. I can't remember how I found you, but I love your blog. You are funny and you shoot straight from the hip! I enjoy your honesty and admire your bravery! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog recently, and I love it! Love the honesty, and LOVE love this post! I tend to fall into that trap of only writing about the good things, when God knows there are plenty of crappy moments! Thanks for the encouragement to be more REAL! Stay tuned...
ReplyDeleteI don't remember if I've commented on your blog yet but I just found it from Emily's blog and I love reading your stuff. You are so real, open and honest and I really like that. Thanks for that.
ReplyDeletethelincbetweenus.blogspot.com
Hey! I'm a new reader and I'm loving your blog! Thanks for this post!! I get lots of inspiration from blogs and am working on being a better blogger and commenter:) I finally realized that's it's not weird to comment on strangers' blogs, haha! Thanks for being so open, honest, and funny! You're an excellent writer. I read your love story, and WOW! What a a testament to God's faithfulness! Also, I totally want a chalkboard wall someday:) Love it! Happy Wednesday to you!
ReplyDeletewow, so well written!
ReplyDeletehmmm, im curious though, what would you consider a stalker? see, i spent 1/2 an hour reading your blog the other day and i didn't comment cuz that would have been creepy to get like 15 comments all at once:) love your home by the way:) are you creaped out now?
well we both know how you've encouraged me, so no need to dally on that...but you're so right. i have been trying to make a point to comment and not just look...or lurk...or stalk... gosh those are creepy words. i'm trying not be be creepy and just comment, okay?
ReplyDeleteyou're pictures are lovely, btw.
ok ok, hi!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree about commenting. I love to leave a comment and encourage others. As a blogger, I know how special they make me feel. I used to be a lurker, and then I decided that was stupid. So I started commenting. If you're going to take time to read it, you might as well take 5 extra seconds and tell the person you did.
ReplyDeleteYou, darling, rock my socks off. Keep on keeping on.
ReplyDeletePreach it sister.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. Love your comments.
And I, bethany j. good do swear to be a better commentor and less of a stalker.
And those pictures? Awesome.
you rock my face off! seriously, not sure how i found your blog, but i L. O. V. E. it. you have encouraged me to be more honest and hope others do the same!
ReplyDeletetracy
www.theblessedlife-tracy.blogspot.com
I like it. I agree totally. :)
ReplyDelete'i love the smell of blogs in the morning'... ha ha I love it. Oh so true.
ReplyDeleteWicked awesome post! I agree 100%. I personally feel inspired and uplifted after reading (and commenting) on some very real ladies blogs. You being one!
ReplyDeleteyour hair is really cute!
ReplyDeletebaha...
ReplyDeletei'm neither a wifey...
nor a mommy....
BUT
can i just get a what what up in here for YOUR blog and EMILY's blog??!?!
what what. there i said it.
seriously though a fellow nursing student and friend of mine connected me with the andersoncrew blog, and then i found YOUR's through that site...and the rest is h.i.s.t.o.r.y.
i appreciate your divine humor and complete honesty! it's refreshing to know that what the world paint's as high expectations for marriage and family life is not real life. additionally might i add that as a Christ following girl i love that you might say a couple expletives now and then...
I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE??? whew..good!
freaking long post! apologies.
p.s.-please make that last creation of yours a magnet or something and sell it porfavor. it tis my life in a nutshell.
Wow you do like to boss people around! Bwahah! I like you for it! I only know of like 10 people who read my blog and I am related to them, then again it's just a baby right now! I seem to have only found blogs of stay at home moms (i work in an office full time, woo hoo...not) and it is hard not to compare. I dream of working part time. I am guilty, but so is everyone else!
ReplyDeleteMrs. Nato,
ReplyDeleteIn your own words ...
"Hey, I actually read what you took time to write about. I care.
KEEP WRITING. KEEP CREATING. It's a good thing!" So yeah. And, I do stalk your blog. Uh, I mean follow it so it appears in my google reader and I haven't been so good about leaving comments. So I will change that. AND, please do the same on my blogoooo. I miss your tidbit/thought/comment on my posts. And to keep it real I believe I will go post now :)
Good stuff, Jami. I'm glad you blog about blogging and that you pick fights with the blogging world in order to make it better. Nice.
ReplyDeletefavorite line, "so ya, in not-so-many words, secret stalkers don't make friends. come out of the bushes and say hi." So, Hi! Love your blog!
ReplyDeletei wholeheartedly agree! just last month or so i blogged about 'encouragers and discouragers: who do YOU want to be?" really no one WANTS to be a discourager. unless they're miserable. and we all know misery <3's co.
ReplyDeleteyou are an inspiration to be honest with what we're blogging and displaying to be 'real'. if we're TRULY blogging on a daily basis to record memories and such for our family, why display false memories?!
ie, "aawwww, remember that time when we were laying on the couch together....that was sooo fun and sweet.......?" more like, "aawwww, remember that time when we were laying on the couch together and i was trying to {embrace the camera} and YOU guys wouldn't cooperate. molly was pulling julian's hair, julian elbowed molly, she started crying and i couldn't get a good shot to post on my blog. but whatever, i'ma posting it anyway!!" yes, THAT's more like it! let's get real: we all know we sometimes sit at the computer updating our status and simultaneously yelling at our kids, "QUIET!! I'M TRYING TO TELL EVERYONE HOW MUCH FUN WE'RE HAVING RIGHT NOW!!!!" mmhmmm.......guilty!
sorry for the tangent. i'm the QUEEN of them. : P
So you "rock my face off" and i really mean that. I love that I know you practice what you preach since I know you in real life and you are the one person I can count on to comment on my blog :P
ReplyDeletei love the conversation bubbles on your pictures
I love a lot more about you too. I guess I have love on the brain...I think I'm still love hungover from valentines day. (I don't know just go with it)
did you blog all of this from your new iphone?
ReplyDeleteI just got to the end of your post and loved it, then I went to close it out and thought, "wait, i'm closing without commenting!"
ReplyDeleteHonest and challenging post. I totally compare myself to others...I always think their blogs are better, they're prettier yada yada yada. I'm me...that's it.
I never comment on any blogs I read that aren't my "real life" friends....but....I love your eloquency (is that even a word - whatev, you get it) and how you strike right to the heart of the matter. It takes guts to say what you feel, even in the blogging world. So my hat's off to you, lady. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteOh and P.S. Your blog makes me actually laugh out loud. Thanks for that, yo. :)
thank you for writing a much needed message! i enjoy reading blogs because i find encouragement or fun ideas. i usually don't comment on the blogs i read, but i will now!
ReplyDeleteaudrey, you're just jealous BEEOTCH.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking a short break from my blog but I was thinking how when I start posting again, I want the first post to be about my favorite bloggers. There's really only a few but what they all have in common is that they share the good and the bad about their lives. You and your blog are top of the list :)
ReplyDeleteI stalk, ahem, check on your blog daily. You inspire me and make me want to work harder at my own transparency. It's so refreshing to find other lovers of our Lord who aren't perfy.. But you lift Him up and I love that about your blog. Keep on rockin! God is proud.
ReplyDeleteoh stop with the pictures already.
ReplyDeletei am peeing my pants i'm laughing so hard.
iphone? now i am no longer laughing.
ReplyDeleteseriously. do you know that you are my first follower i don't know in real life. do you know that makes me nervous and excited at the same time? you are a great commenter... and you are so right -- it is so encouraging. i think sometimes i am conflicted-- what are the rules?-- are you annoying if you comment all the time? can you write a book about comment etiquette from all your 'sources'? ok thanks. ;)
ReplyDeleteHello! Just found your blog through a comment by YOU on another blog:). How aprospro! Thanks for the honesty and the post; your blog is inspiring and real and full of truth. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteemily,
ReplyDeletedon't be a hater. nato got me one for valentines day.
lauren and everyone,
i don't know...is there etiquette for commenting? if there is etiquette on commenting too much, i must be annoying. i comment a lot. i have a lot of words.
but truly, do you ever get sick of reading encouragement? pshhhh, no.
Hello! I actually found your blog through a comment you posted on another blog; how aprospro! Thank you for writing with honesty and truth and zest. I like your blog. A lot. Thanks for writing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder! I'm guilty of it all! And P.S- I made your alfredo lasagna the other night and it was a huge hit! THANKS!
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeletethis post made me smile, like many of yours do :) and yes i love waking up to blogs
and yes i'll admit i'm usually just a stalker... thanks for the encouragement to work on that...
I love your authenticity and the call for others to join you in it. For me there is a boundary of what I want to share in the blog world and what I share in real life. I have a core group of women who know the struggles that plague me daily even hourly and they are my real support, tangible friends who laugh with me and cry with me. This blog thing, for me, is just a way to record fun happenings, good things, and monumental moments in our lives. I don't let anyone else's blog make me feel bad, these spaces are just the tip of the iceberg, there's always more to the story.
ReplyDeleteWell said! Why do women tear each other down instead of lift each other up? It's something I often think about. In fact I had been thinking about writing a similar post! I love your blog. I love your honesty. I love how you are totally you, no appologies! It's awesome!
ReplyDeletei must say, i lurk your blog. i laugh and laugh and swoon over the pictures and crafts. i don't remember how i originally started reading, but i figured you were far away somewhere and i was peering into your distant life. but then one day, i realized that the Lila that i watch during first service is blog Lila, your Lila!! i was pretty starstruck when it dawned on me. she is a sweet one.
ReplyDeleteyourockmyfaceoff.
ReplyDeletewas just discussing this topic with a fellow blogger the other day, and you're so right.
naturally.
comments are the best!
This is Spot On. Well done, well said. I'm sharing this with my blogger friends on Facebook! And may I say, I'd love to be friends? You're just the sort I'd love to take out for coffee or tea or Slurpees, whatever you're into. Too bad about the geography conflict thingy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for keepin' it real!
ok so first off...I love all the pictures. They crack me up/you are super cute...
ReplyDeleteSecond off...amen sister! hollaa
Not sure if this breaks comment etiquette cause its kind of a story but...
Some months after I got married/moved/got a new job/(all at once)/the list goes on...I was feeling a little down in the dumps. I loved my new life/new hubby and all, but A LOT had just changed in my life and I was feeling kinda Wahhh about dealing with all the change. Around that time, my friend told me about this blog and I checked it out... and the Lord used that woman in my life in such a powerful/unexpected way! She encouraged me to try new things and live my life for His glory no matter where I was at in life...and now I read blogs for encouragement a lot...
..so that was a long, partially incoherent story, but seriously I think what you said is true and I am doing fist pumps for you right now :)
amen. sista. friend.
ReplyDeletei appreciate the honestly in this blog.
i soo LOVED that you left a comment on my blog once upon a time b/c i often feel like i am writing to myself (nothing wrong with some journal/reflection time) but i love the community that happens in the blog world...so seeing that someone i didn't know left a lil note was encouraging for sure.
now i am trying to do more commenting and not let the 50 comments before mine make it feel unimportant or not necessary. i appreciate that you share your life, read our comments, and communicate back--feels more community (which is the point).
i love your humor, honesty and wit...and i kept help but love that you are a kc mama like me!! go girl! can't wait to meet(see pictures) of the newest nato :)
ReplyDeleteKeeping doing what you do! I enjoy catching up on blogs at the end of long days and yours is always so real. :) THANK YOU!
ReplyDelete"I love the smell of blogs in the morning". I love that!
ReplyDeleteAlso, just found your blog, from reading your love story. And I loved it. I loved it, because you were honest. It surprised me to read your honesty, and it's brave of you. You're definitely not one to sugarcoat your life for the blog world!
Loved your post as well! Totally agree with you. While I'm not a mom myself, I love reading about other people's lives, and yes, I do get the 'their lives are so much better than mine' feeling while reading them sometimes. Your post reminded me not to think that way. That I'm not seeing the big picture, just a little one. Thank you for that!
Since I'm "supposed" to comment ;), I just wanted to say, usually your posts have me rolling on the floor laughing. AND you have probably the cutest kids/family ever in life. :)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I am so glad that you called me out of Google Reader land and inspired me to comment, because otherwise I would have never known how fabulous your music taste is! Rolling in the Deep came on and I was like, "I LIKE this girl more now!" Anyway, I totally agree with you and you have inspired me to comment more. Sometimes I find myself turning inward and beating myself up about not making as much time as I could to keep up my blog and I always want to comment but just don't because I figure they blogger doesn't care about my silly little comment anyway. So, thanks! Love your blog. Visit mine sometime, if you are so inclined: www.coreysgal.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYou are always stealing my thoughts!!!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love a good 'open-dialogue' myself, except, I completely agree with all that you said!
{peeking out from the bushes & waving hello}
ReplyDeleteGuilty blog stalker here and SO guilty of reading blogs and feeling inadequate and comparing myself to others. Must amend straight-away.
Happy Wednesday!
stalker coming out of the bushes!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHI!
i honestly don't know if i have commented on your blog before, i know i comment in my brain though :) don't worry, they are always the bestest comments ever! love.your.here.blog.
http://tedandmelinda-tmehly.blogspot.com/
I like you. I love this blog. I adore your honesty. I love that you love Jesus but maybe cuss occasionally. Me too. We should be friends. Just sayin'. Happy Wednesday! :)
ReplyDeleteJust when I think I couldn't enjoy your blog more, you go and write a post like this! Meaning, I really love your blog and this post was fantastic! In other news, I would love to see a picture of your growing belly.
ReplyDeleteI love blogs and find them inspiring and encouraging...in fact I found your blog through your love story on take heart and found it to be an amazing testimony, such an encouragement. I love comments on blogs too (sorry if I haven't commented on yours yet, I'm new to your blog. My name is Myriah Mae nice to meet you, come check me out www.myriahmae.blogspot.com and leave me some comment love, hahaha.
ReplyDeleteJust when I think I couldn't love your blog more, you go and write a post like this! Meaning, I love your blog and this post was fantastic. In other news, I would love to see a picture of your growing belly.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started blogging, there was a blog I lurked on and thought, with eye rolls, "this girl is so freaking positive I can't take it! how can she have such a great outlook on everything all the time?" I firmly believe to like a person, you need a balance of light and dark. it ain't all unicorns all the time. Then one day she showed a glimpse into her reality, and told us why she blogs about positive things. And i got it. The world, the internet doesn't need negativity taking up space. We should be honest, but also reflective of our many blessings, and I try to now use my blog to generate more positivity in general. It's sort of like manifesting your own destiny you know? not sure if this makes any sense, but in general I think blogging has made me into a more positive person. I no longer see blogs as a means of comparison, but as a funnel of encouragement and inspiration.
ReplyDelete(*Coming out of the bushes to say*) HI! :) You make some good points, and I love the pics you used for this post.
ReplyDeletetrue that sister! there is no super mom, and we are all going day to day trying to do our best! i love your blog, you are flippin fab and you inspire me~ peace out
ReplyDeleteI. Heart. You.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, my brutally honest friend, I heart you. It makes me want to go straight over to my highly neglected blog and vomit out all of my troubles in a post. Or two.
I have no trouble laying all out there, but my in-laws would probably fer-eek-out. I guess I could figure out a way to lay it out there without freaking people out- but would it still be honest? Hmmmmmm....
Anyway, thank you for the post. I love reading you.
Love, jenn
AMEN SISTER. I started blogging a year and a half ago and I totally fell into what I called "the comparison trap" at first. I even wrote a blog about it way back in the day. I went back and re-read that blog and it made me remember this quote that my big sis told me, "Comparison is contrary to contentment." Pretty much sums it up, don't you think? You can't be content about yourself when you are comparing yourself to someone else all the time. I had to learn that the hard way when I first started blogging but now I feel like I have finally found my "comfort zone" in the blogging world. I definitely don't compare myself to others anymore (or try really hard not too) and I definitely hope noone ever, ever compares themselves to me because let's be honest, I am a crazy person so they would be very, very stupid to do that! Anyways, thanks for blogging and I am glad that I found you (in a non-creepy way even though that sounded pretty creepy :).
ReplyDeleteI am a secret blog stalker. ha-ha. well not really since I have your blog listed as a favorite on my blog. Hi from Maryland! I read your love story on take heart and visited your blog!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. This is so true and in life and the blogging world. Thanks for keeping it real. P.S. I love Jesus too, but some how whenever I play speed scrabble those cuss words just slip out!
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping it real. This is something in life and in the blogging world we should be more aware of and fight off! P.S. I love Jesus too, but somehow when I play speed scrabble those cuss words just pop out of my mouth. oops.
ReplyDeleteyous da best.
ReplyDeletei love ya.
but you already knew that.
ps i am emailing you tomorrow.
falling asleep at the computer.
from commenting on these blogs.
just kidding.
just yours.
I know you've encouraged me by commenting on my blog! :) Thank you! Thanks also for the challenge to look outward rather than in. I have a big problem with comparing myself to others, just like you were talking about. You would make faces at me all day long.
ReplyDeleteWow, Can I say one thing. You are awesome! I love your blog so much and it inspires me!
ReplyDeleteI am not married and I don't have any children (I dream...) but I hope that one day when I am older my family is as awesome as yours. : )
Thanks for blogging pretty lady! xx
super encouraging. thanks for laying it all on the line!
ReplyDeleteWell said. I am coming out of the stalker group. I love your story, I love your blog. I think you are encouraging and brave for sharing the way you do! Keep on keeping on!
ReplyDeletera
So first of all, your name rocks. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou rock. And your encouragement? Well...it rocks too. So thanks. Mind if I link this post on my blog?
Jaimie
ME: Childless-by-choice PhD student who researches motherhood, never crafts, and regularly reads mom blogs--strictly for my research's sake of course. ;-) I read a lot of blogs, and yours is one of my favorites. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteholy guacamole! 86 comments! this must have been a good post! (in "total shallow, getting affirmation by the number of comments on a particular blog post" world.)
ReplyDeletestill. it's good.
Jami...hey friend... we haven't talked in weeks but I feel like I somehow know what's going on in your life because.... yes I read your blog regularly! Your blog is pure entertainment and I love your openness and honesty. We need to get together soon and catch up since I do not and will not blog, seriously :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, you caught me-I am a blog stalker. I am one that just stays in the shadows as I read. But you can't make friends that way, now can you? It's actually something I'm struggling with right now--friendships. Who knew that it would be so hard to meet/make friends as an adult?
ReplyDeleteAs a new blogger, this post is downright fab. I love comments (and followers, btw), it is so true-it makes it feel like what you wrote is worthwhile (even though I don't write for "the fans" it's nice to know people are reading). Also, you rock my face off. Truly. I am faceless. You are THAT awesome.
ReplyDeleteTexto prazeroza nesta página, post como aqui vemos demonstram valor a quem quer que observar neste blogue .....
ReplyDeleteEscreve muito mais de este sÃtio, a todos os teus visitantes.
Peeking out from under the bridge to say AWESOME post (and attitude) and how much I've come to like your blog (only found you recently). So thanks! You rock :)
ReplyDeleteYou mean to tell me... I'm NOT supermom? ;)
ReplyDeleteComing out of the bushes and saying hi. Also linking this post to my B today. LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteI feel like if I didn't comment I'd be breaking the rules. But I feel you, and I love your support!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's because I'm old, but I find that reading blogs doesn't make me feel any less competent, but they encourage me to believe I'm not alone in some of my struggles and frustrations.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am a shameless commenter--it means a lot for bloggers to know someone's reading them!
Beautiful post! I just found your blog....so glad I did! BTW, your haircut is adorable on you.
ReplyDeleteWord! Jami, this is a legit blog! So good to women to think about since it is sooo easy to get caught in the comparison loop! Thanks lady!
ReplyDeleteHi! I just found your blog from reading your love story. Totally encouraged me and touched my heart. Thank you!!
ReplyDeletewowzers. lots of things coming to my brain as i read your post. i know life it's always "rainbows & unicorns" but i'm a positive person to a fault, so that's why my blog probably seems too happy to be true. i'm a half-full person, i'd venture to say 95% of the time. jami, thanks for stirring things up in my heart. i love your honesty and hilarity about life. keep it up, girl!
ReplyDeleteamen and amen.
ReplyDeletei totally used to read blogs and then feel discouraged and then God got a hold of me and reminded me that none of us are perfect apart from Him and we can all just do our best.
on another note, i want to see the belly. please?
AMen :) I ready your blog all the time.. and I found you from Emily and Ashley Ann. I look forward to your post because of your honesty... so hello! No longer a stalker :)
ReplyDeleteJamie,
ReplyDeleteLove your post! I haven't touched my blog since I started because I was discouraged...but you've been a huge inspiration and encourager. Our lives are messy and hard and full of unexpected disappointments...some of which I've had this week. But I always always LOVE your honesty and if we are women of honesty and encouragement that's what we need to pick ourselves up from our boot straps and go on! So thanks. I know I needed a kick! =) You do ROCK as always!
steph b.
I found you through tessa's blog! First time here! :) You're so right. I also think sometimes people choose not to partake in reading blogs or writing blogs because they feel too much pressure to be something they aren't, which in reality is the completely wrong reason to blog or read other's blogs. You read them for the encouragement, you write for a chance to be yourself and if people don't see that...the whole point has been missed. I mean, to put your life on the internet would be so you can interact with others right? People who aren't perfect, or just like you - but certainly can identify with you, pray for you, encourage you...??
ReplyDeleteI suppose I've just found that there are some bloggers who prefer the perfection. They don't like to read the raw, the normal and the honest. They want pretty pictures and perfect scenarios displayed and sugary-coatedness and that's just simply not how it is in real life. And besides that it's prideful in my opinion to not be "real" at least occassionally.
Someone once told me they stopped reading a very popular blog that many, many women read because the author was always being so debbie downer when they wrote. In reality (mine anyway), this person usually writes very thought provoking posts about God, about her children and her life, and it's all very encouraging and easy to identify with.
I realized right then why she just doesn't really get into the blog "world." She doesn't read outwardly. She reads inwardly. It was obviously that the truth of the matter was, she was a bit jealous of this woman's life. I just say that simply because I think much of it isn't just comparision....there's some jealousy present. And there is just no reason to be jealous of anyone else. You're perfect the way that you are. I wish more bloggers took the time to point that out in each other!
I'll be back to read more soon!

Jami,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post! I haven't touched my blog since I started and really because I was so discouraged. But you are right, life is messy, it's hard and it's full of unexpected disappointments some of which I've had just this week. But if we are women of honesty and encouragement that is what we need to pick ourselves up by the boot straps and go on. God can really use even a blog to bind us together and be better wives, women and mommies! Thanks again. I appreciate always your honesty, recipes, crafts and funny stories! As always you do ROCK! Just told someone the story the other day of watching you almost ski off a mountain!
steph b.
Thank you for this! I just did exactly what you are talking about last night, comparing myself to another blogger, beating myself up that her pics of her newborn are so much better than mine, how can she be so skinny after just giving birth, etc? Who gives a shit! She's cute and i love reading her blog. My newborn's just as cute and I'm hot too, just not as hot on my blog. THANK YOU for making me realize this!
ReplyDeletelove this!!!! and... the encourager face is my favorite. you are such a model!
ReplyDeletei am coming out of the stalking shadows;) to tell you i adore you,and everything you write and your heart. Thanks for the encoragment:)
ReplyDeletei am coming out of the stalking shadows;) to tell you i adore you,and everything you write and your heart. Thanks for the encoragment:)
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Jami. It is what I needed to hear, so thanks for that. Plus, Dash loves your face. We looked at your pics several times.
ReplyDeleteyou rock my face off.
ReplyDeletei would just like to say.......
ReplyDeletei concur. : ))
LOVE your blog. You are funny, crafty, honest, and I usually hope that no one has snuck in to my craft room while I am reading your blog...or they might find me laughing, crying, or both! I found your blog through the Littrells. I don't get much computer time with two kids and a home sewing business, but love your inspiration both for life and crafts. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteMandi McKinley
YOU ROCK MY FACE OFF! or its I ROCK YOUR FACE OFF...right? I just encouraged myself, you're a genius, this love is spreading like wildfire. I heart you!
ReplyDeleteI love your candidness. And your comments. I think that I hear, "oh, i read your blog" more in person than i actually get comments. I think I have more stalkers than I realize. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this post! Always a good reminder and you're pics made me laugh. I needed to laugh:)
ReplyDeleteI liked this post. I am guilty of reading lots of blogs and not really commenting. I'm not sure why but now I am going to up my game and show some love to those blogs I love!
ReplyDeleteLoved this post and ya I am one of your so-called stalkas. So here's my comment :)
ReplyDeleteJust for knowin Jami your comments on my blog always make me smile I appreciate them! You are hysterical and brighten my day!! =) See ya soon!!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and, yes, I read often from "stalker" distance. Love the music, posts, and fun pics. Thanks for sharing your life and heart! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and, yes, I read from a "stalker" distance. Thanks for the encouragement, fun posts, and great pics! :) I am one that sometimes judges (myself, NOT you) and know better - thanks for the reminder. :)
ReplyDeletejami- yours and em's blogs are the only ones i read besides aholyexperience.com I like blogs, but i feel like they can tend to contribute to lonliness for SAHMs especially. still, i blog on for my kids and myself, mostly. it is nice when friends stop by and leave a comment, tho. phone calls or drivebys are way better!
ReplyDeletegreat post. i used to be soo bad at this, thinking my life was so sucky to compared to other bloggers, so I revamped things. i did some soul searching, shut down my popularish blog and opened one where I am honest and passionate and way less read, but whatever, I am happier now :)
ReplyDelete113 comments ago, Rachel said that you were maybe a better commenter than me. She may be right.
ReplyDeleteYou are kind and I'm glad we're bloggie friends.
I found your blog from your love story on Danielle's blog.
ReplyDeleteWhat an AWESOME AWESOME story.
Girl, you rock.
Like really rock.
Also, great post today.
hi jami. :) i read your story on danielle's blog. and i'm sharing my story on her blog next week. and the very last line in your story really helped me figure out what to say in mine. and then this blog - thanks.
ReplyDeletei'll be coming back.
hi! i'm new here, read your story on danielle's blog and loved it so i thought i would check you out. i loved this post, thanks so much for telling the truth about what blogging should be. it encouraged me to continue and maybe even blog more!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with this. My sister and i totally judge ourselves and compare ourselves to others in the blogging world. It makes us feel inadequate and like we aren't worth so much. I totally appreciate your honesty. I'm not gonna pretend my life is perfect, it's not and i don't have any trouble admitting it. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
i definitely do not blog for comments but it is nice to read them if they do come. just another form of communication that this here stay-at-home momma needs.
ReplyDeleteyour blog is fun and awesome. and i seem to come here a lot. i should comment more on your blog here because i do like it a lot.
Convicted! I now am fessing up as a blog stalker. I found your blog through some blog through some blog...you know. I read your love story. It struck a deep chord. I didn't have a happy ending...but I rejoice that yours does! I have a new story now....thank you for your transparency.
ReplyDeleteKeepin' it real in Kansas! (I promise)
Jilly
i totally blog stalk. but unlike all the other blogs i blog stalk, i commented on yours within minutes of discovering your site. i love it. i love your honesty. :) so keep an eye out! i'll keep stalking you. but i'll leave some love more often. O and i totally love that foster the people song you have. "pumped up kicks." i'm obsessed.
ReplyDeleteyen. pronounced ian.
hello 130 comments!! You keep me laughing and I love it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteyou crack me up. :) well said.
ReplyDeleteLiving in Germany, I know how to do what I'm told. So I'm finally dropping the lurker mode and commenting--I L.O.V.E. your blog!
ReplyDeleteI found it through Suz's and your honesty, directing us to Jesus, has been a huge encouragement with my own, different fun. Plus, me and another expat wife totally dig your crafternoons. More, please!
wonderful hilarity and amazing insight. thanks girl. i am a good friend of jeanna. trying to get off my computer more offten....but i do love funky faith mama blogs and there are so many wonderful ways to encourage! thanks for your web-joy!
ReplyDeletewonderful hilarity and incredible wisdom... thank you for writing! i am a good friend of jeanna's...trying to get off my computer more off-ten, but i do have huge love for funky faith mama blogs. thanks again for sharing your web-joy!
ReplyDeleteJami,
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS! I recently posted on my blog about struggling with depression and anxiety, especially during the winter months. I was getting comments from followers telling me they wanted my life, and I just felt a need to be real. My life isn't all "Jesus and Rainbows." Unfortunately, my mother and mother-in-law didn't like the truth spreading. How do you deal with that or do you deal with negative feedback from family that reads your blog?
Much Love!
Just found your blog through a friends blog and I love it! I love to blog and I love your honestly and openess!! Its GREAT! DAMN look at all your comments! Wish I could get taht many! I am working on my readers!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post, Jami. I know that you always comment on my blog and it always makes me feel good that i know someone is reading my blog. Thanks, girl. You are such an encourager!
ReplyDeleteI found you through Emily's blog some time ago ... had fun reading back and back and back ... :)
ReplyDeleteThere's been a common post theme throughout various blogs lately .... blogger comparisons, blogger envy etc ... so thanks for what you had to say.
I have so many amazing blogs on my daily read list and I don't think I suffer from blogger jealousy but really, blogger inspiration. It's so amazing what I read and encounter every day!
I do, however, have blogger frustration as the comments on my own wee blog have dwindled ... and I'm really only expecting comments from family and friends ... so I wonder who is actually reading anymore. I know my blog has become mainly a way to keep all of our faraway family in touch with us and our kids .... but I AM writing it for them and would love to know that they're reading it!!
Thanks Jami for YOUR bloggity-blog ... I had to comment because, well, you asked just so nicely! :)
Thanks for keeping it real. Its about time somebody thought the same way I did about telling people what is REALLY going on with our lives. :)
ReplyDeleteI found your blog today through a few varied steps, but I read your love story and then I had to go to your blog.
ReplyDeleteI tend to stalk because I am insecure, which is silly. I appreciate your stance on blogs and what they should be, however. I'm a little new to the blogging world, and I am working on being more frequent on my own blog.
Your family photos are totally awesome and right up my alley.
So, just wanted to say that you were an encouragement to me, and I hope that encourages you.
Yur funny. I know you are BFF's w/ Emily but if I lived anywhere near you I'm totally sure I'd be your BFF too!
ReplyDeleteYur funny. I know you are BFF's w/ Emily, but I'm sure if I lived anywhere near you I'd be your BFF too!
ReplyDeleteI love your honesty and I love your blog.
ReplyDeleteI love that I'm not perfect... That I have imperfections...
But I dont love my 3 year old temper tantrums... ha ha
well said!
ReplyDeleteyou rock my face off!
and...I took the time to read what you wrote :)
I LOOOOVVVEEE this blog!! I started blogging recently, very randomly, and felt so 'amateur'! Then I stepped back and remembered why I was blogging....FOR ME!!! Yes, there are those super duper, professional, wish-I-could-be-more-like-them bloggers, but folks, I. am. not. one. of. those! God made me 'me' and I'm embracing it. And documenting it. For me. With honesty. And I do get encourement (and give) from other blogs....like this one. Thanks.....again!!
ReplyDeleteAlright, hi! I'm very new to your blog, so I'm still getting a feel for who you are, but I liked you enough to instantly add you to my "favorites" folder on my reader! I don't blog anymore because I'm working full time and taking classes part time to get myself a better job at some point, it leaves very little time for anything else.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm most interested in trying to get a few hints of how you and your husband were able to bounce back as a marriage. My husband isn't cheating, I don't think, but we've had a rough three years and I'm not really sure there's any love left. I think I'm finding myself to blogs whose writers have a stronger basis in faith for a reason these days.
I love the music you have on your blog too!
It is so funny, because I have never been anything but encouraged + inspired when I read others' blogs! Great post.
ReplyDeleteI just came across your blog from your comment on Meg's love story post. I am from Kansas too. I am commenting so I am not stalking you. :)
ReplyDeleteI recently found your blog and love your honesty. I love your style of writing too, it's fun. Your story is so refreshing. Yes, refreshing! To read about your pain and see where you're at now is inspiring and encouraging. You're so right, not telling the bad helps no one. It's just so hard to take that leap of faith. What will people think? My family will judge me, etc. You rock Jami!! I look forward to following your blog :)
ReplyDeletehi. i totally love your blog! its so right, people do judge themselves too hard. i find myself doing that somedays, comparing my blog to other blogs is another big thing. I know alot of people i have tried to get to blog and they say "well, my blog wont be as good, i have nothing to write about, that person is crafty and im not" blog land can get pretty intimating somedays. thank you for your post today. totally brightened my day.
ReplyDeletexoxo

You rock. This post rocks. Thank-you so much for writing it. I totally agree with you, super-moms do not exist. I get that a lot on my blog and I need to reassure people I am by no means a super-mom. I'm one of those moms who likes to do crafts, that's my I do them. That doesn't make me a super-mom. If I didn't like doing them, I wouldn't. And I wouldn't feel bad about it either. Happy moms = happy kids.
ReplyDeleteI wish every blogger read your blog, how about making a 'Rules of Blogging' blog!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time reading your blog. And what a good one to start with... Blogging to the glory of Jesus!
ReplyDelete(I think I go to your church too... I'd love to meet you sometime!) Keep blogging and living for Jesus!
I know this is a serious post (and a darn good one at that)...but I can't stop laughing at the pictures. So cute & funny...and perfect for this post.
ReplyDeleteI like you.
Well I just tried commenting...not sure where it disappeared to...so I'll try again.
ReplyDeleteI know this is a more serious post (and a darn good one at that), but I can't stop laughing at the pictures. You are too cute and the fun pics are just perfect for the post.
I like you!
Great post! I love what you said. I think you're really funny and your kids are really cute! Also I live in Kansas City too, yay for KC!
ReplyDeletejami,
ReplyDeleteyes you really are the best commenter ever and it's so hard to NOT judge the success of my blog off of how many comments i get per post. i put alot of heart and energy into my blog, and i do it because i love it. i know people love to read it (locals tell me in person), and i see in my stats that they do read it, but comments aren't what i'd like them to be, simply because i would be SO STOKED to see what someone gleaned from a post. the point is not so i can brag or feel successful. it's so i can feel as connected to other readers as they feel to me. (i feel like one of the downfalls of having a blog is i don't hear from far-off friends because they just "check the blog" to catch up with me; but that's my own fault. i could take the blog down at any time...)..tangent, sorry! xo from wichita {practically neighbors eh?}
Wow -- it's comments for days on this post :)
ReplyDeleteYou are hilarious as always. Love it.(And hope you are feeling well!)
I totally agree with you! I have been so challenged lately to be more honest with blogging, to encourage others with more story...and I've been trying to comment a lot more on the blogs I read. It's so easy to read something and go away from it going, "Wow. That was amazing." But, telling that person that it was amazing seriously does just take an extra 5 seconds.
ReplyDeleteEncouragement goes such a long way. We all need encouragement, we all need to know that we are not alone in our thoughts, and we all need to be brought back to Christ on a daily basis.
Thanks for posting this!!
Hey, thanks for commenting on my blog! We are in Overland Park. 83rd and Antioch-ish. I check your deals blog regularly too. :)
ReplyDeleteI forgot to ask, and whereabouts are you?
ReplyDeletethanks jami. exactly what i needed to read. off to go blog... with honesty i hope!
ReplyDeleteyou have an amazing way with words and i couldn't agree with you more. i read blogs for advice and encouragement...because i often feel like i don't know what they hell i'm doing as a mother. lol
ReplyDeleteLoved your post! Thanks for the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteI truly love your blog in large part because of your honesty. I just found you not long ago so this is my first time commenting but I will be back. Often. So, nice to meet you, jami, I'm Candace! Ha! :)
ReplyDeleteI read your story via: a few weeks ago and was really, really touched by reading it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being so honest and open in your writing!
I especially liked: "...secret stalkers don't make friends. come out of the bushes and say hi."
When I s.l.o.w.l.y started commenting a little a few months ago, I realized that while I love reading about other peoples' lives, it's even better to let them know I'm in the shadows. It occurred to me, that by commenting, people actually know who you are. And geez, they may even comment back! Crazy concept?
I know, it really isn't- but I still had to learn it :)
oops, forgot to say how I got here :)
ReplyDeleteI read your story a few weeks ago via: Danielle at Take Heart
Thanks for this... too true. I had my own little moment of confession over where I'm at. It's nice to know that others deal with the same things you do, and to have a testimony of God's grace and help through it all. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAmen, amen, and amen!!!! I feel like I am always screaming exactly what you just said! I am so glad you believe in it too! I try so hard to be real on my blog... and while I don't have many readers, I think it is still important. So thank you for being real with all of us.
ReplyDeleteso...you have like 175 comments on this one post...what's mine going to do for you....JUST KIDDING!
ReplyDeleteLoved this post. I have a serious blog crush on you actually. keep doing what you are doing. and i'll go as far as saying...i want to meet you one day...in person...so we can be *real* friends. how's that for coming out of stalker mode.
nice job on this post. it's needed. i always say if we make everything seem perfect, we are only making others feel like failures. so not fair. you can count on me for always being real. hello i posted the love letter my husband wrote me when it was either time to shape up or time to leave. ouch. we are so happy in love again. it just took some work.
ok...over and out. let's chat some time over email! :)
This post is just Spot on. It is awesome. And true. And honest. And real. Thank you for sharing your heart. Women have such a tendency to get sucked into the comparison game & it needs to STOP! Thanks for preaching it in this post, I loved it! I am so glad I found your blog tonight! I have been reading through your archives for the last hour while watching American Idol! We have a lot in common (I also do photography on the side. And, I think my youngest daughter is the same age as yours. Claire was born on 9.9.08) Anyways, thanks for being so real, can't wait to read more. By the way, Congrats on baby #3 you look adorable!
ReplyDeleteJami, I'm a secret stalker :/ I found your blog via Emily's blog (where I'm also a secret stalker). I keep intending to leave comments, but keep thinking that I'll do it once I start keeping up my own blog. I've been saying this for E-VA! Since I haven't blogged since October or November, and before that, last spring, I figured I'd leave a long rambling comment on this post to tell you I read what you write and USUALLY laugh my ass off. Sometimes not. But mostly.
ReplyDeleteThanks for making me laugh.
Your secret stalker. (one of many, I'm sure)
Jeremi
wow! this a lot of comments on one post!
ReplyDeleteeven though i am the 179!!?? commenter, i will add that i agree with you. you are adorable in your photos too.
and a very good encourager yourself.
xoxo
Nice post, can't wait to read more on your blog.
ReplyDeleteNail on the Head!!! So true, funny thing is I feel all of those insecurities just like any other woman. But especially in the blogging land. I totally felt like bummer I am not a major comment getter but you know what that is okay but still it can be hard at times. But it is so nice to know we are not the only people out there. Thank you for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteSO true! Awesome post. I'm a newbie but I'll be coming back... ;-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome post. I found you today through Kiwi Freckles, and I'm adding you to my reader (and I do read all the blogs in my reader!)! :)
ReplyDeleteFound this post through a link on Katy's blog (Scottyboy & Katygirl).
ReplyDeleteAll I have to say is, Amen.
Comparison is the kiss of death my hubby always tells me. Man is it true.
wow ... i couldn't be more on board with what you said! just love it!
ReplyDeleteBravo to you!!!!!! I totally agree. Thank you for what you said.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post....thank you for your words. I'm really starting to dig this whole blogging community thing. Peace.
ReplyDeletei just found your blog (love it by the way) and loved this post! I'm your newest follower and i won't be a stalker :)
ReplyDeleteGirl! you're gifted! see? again YOU INSPIRE ME! your writing is fulfiled with an amazing energy!
ReplyDeletebtwy I happen to read this second to the last one, but feel no presure on leaving a comment LOL!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this post! ...
Just discovered your blog! Love love LOVE it! Also love this post! Permission to link to it from my blog?? I have many loads of laundry to do and dishes to wash annnnd babies to take care of - but just had to drop a quick comment. Have a fantastic day!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog - my sister adores it and sent it my way. I'm a mommy of two boys and love it! Thanks for the great posts :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I've stopped by several times but have never commented. I think at some point I jumped to your blog from Lindsay's. This is definitely a nice reminder to be more of a giver (as in leaving comments) and less of a taker(as in only reading) in blogland. I thought I would tell you how much I appreciate your writing and your humor. You keep it real and I like that!
ReplyDeleteSo yeah...just stumbled upon you...and yes, this post happened to rock my face off!
ReplyDelete{totally what I needed to hear...encouraging and totally convicting because I am so guilty of walking away from my screen feeling inadequate and less-than'}. Rock on!
wicked... awesome... post!!!
ReplyDeletehere, here!
you wrote it so well. we need to encourage and love one another! let's share the good and the bad so we all feel normal.
you're lovely! thanks for the encouragement!!! xo
When I first went to comment I thought it said you had 19 comments...HA! it said 194! (well 195 with this one). Thanks for this post. I actually googled the phrase "I'm a terrible mom" yesterday. I read an article that said, "The very fact that you think you're a terrible means you're not." I liked that very much. My sister shared your blog with me and I like it very much, too!
ReplyDeletelove this(and your cute photos!). :)
ReplyDeleteI must have started following your blog after this post. Loved it. I'm saying hi, even though you already have 196 other comments. Love your blog and your honesty.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this post, too :) I have a few people I know who struggle with reading blogs b/c they find people are acting 'perfect', etc. The thing I always remember is, its the internet. We get to chose what we put out there, or what we don't. An argument with my husband? Not blog worth nor is it respectful. Honestly blogging about my miscarriage and the heartbreak I went through with it? That's honest. I chose to write about it. Copious amounts of pictures of my baby girl? Check. Its good to remember this perspective. Thanks for sharing:)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post. Love, love, love it. I was gonna write a post about some of this blog world stuff. But, I think you said it better here, than I could. Nice. Truth!
ReplyDeleteI've been a silent stalker on your blog since, yesterday.....You are very open and honest and I have concluded that you have been through a lot of people don't have to go through and have a lot of wisdom to offer on the subject of forgiveness, which for me is something I struggle with with certain people in my life. You are very encouraging and refreshing. It's true, most blogs just make me feel bad about what I'm NOT doing as a wife. Or why my life can't be more awesome like thoooosssseeee people on the blogs. It's weird to admit that because I don't feel that way when I'm at home with my husband, living my life, but when I'm on the internet surfing blogs full of married, put together women who have beautiful homes and children & seem to have it all I do get a lil down. I guess I get a little jealous. And that's not a good thing. So, thanks for the reality check & the honesty.
ReplyDelete
